Smoothed distributions for the empirical fraction $\hat{c}$ of events won by a team, for each sport, and the predicted fraction for a perfectly balanced scoring, when given the empirical distribution of events per game (Figure 1). Modes at 1 and 0 indicate a non-trivial probability of one team winning or losing every event, which is more common when only a few events occur.
