We test whether the points are distributed differently using the 2D Kolmogorov-Smirnov statistic [28], and calculate the significance by resampling the researchers’ affiliations. At the 5% confidence level, we can only reject the null hypothesis (that both subsets are drawn from the same distribution) in the case of network ecology
